Seven Turns Dance Collective, BendigoExpression through Dance, Freedom through Movement
Seven Turns Dance Collective aims to reveal to students the joy and delight that expression through Dance offers.
At Seven Turns Dance Collective, children from infancy (dancing with a parent), on through preschool, primary, secondary and adults can explore music and movement in ways that enhance their wellbeing both through individual expression and relationship to others.
We focus on developing self confidence, creativity, physicality and musicality in a non-competitive environment. Creative dance students develop dance skills through dance tasks and improvisation. Students explore movement, inspired and enhanced by the use of imagery, props, different genres of music from around the world and themes. Yoga is incorporated into the class to encourage focus, strength and relaxation.
We also offer more traditional dance styles. Beginner, Junior and Intermediate classes in Classical Ballet are available, as well as Contemporary and Break Dance classes. Students can take classes in more than one style of dance, such as Creative, Ballet, Contemporary or Hip Hop, each informing the other.
Students work with teachers to create performance dances over a period of time which are showcased at our annual concert at the Capital Theatre in Bendigo. This gives students an opportunity to have creative input into the choreography and experience the excitement and joy of performance. A sense of self mastery and self belief is developed as students work towards a collective goal with others.
